Business Development Manager
After starting his career in the City of London, Andrew has worked in the North West building industry for over 20 years: initially as a construction recruiter and since 2009 as Business Development Manager for regional contractors and an internationally-active firm of Chartered Surveyors. His role at City Build is to develop relationships with our Clients and design team partners to secure future work from existing customers, whilst marketing our services to potential new ones. He is also involved in the appointment of Consultant firms to support us on our Design & Build schemes. Projects Andrew has been involved with during his recent career include a high specification Research & Development facility for Presspart Manufacturing in Bolton, Operating Theatre refurbishments and new builds at Salford Royal Hospital, and the refurbishment of stands at Aintree Racecourse.”
Dr Martin Berry
PhD BSc (Hons)
Martin is the Managing Director of City Build Manchester Ltd and has over 25 years experience in the construction industry.
Martin has been employed by City Build since the first day of trading and has helped guide and manage
the business to its current £17m turnover and over 750 successfully completed
Martin takes a hands on approach to managing the company, and has active involvement in all of our current projects.
Toby is one of our Directors, and has over 20 years’ experience in the Profession. Toby plays an active role in managing projects at City Build, and also acts as framework manager for many of our frameworks, including Construction Impact Framework, Procure North West, University of Manchester, Manchester Airport, Oldham MBC and Wigan MBC.
Tim has been the Finance Director since the company was incorporated. A chartered accountant with over 30 years experience, Tim has extensive knowledge of the Construction Industry Sector.
Andrew is responsible for heading up our Estimating Department, and has extensive knowledge of the industry. Andrew has expertise in pricing tenders quickly and effectively, ensuring best value is achieved for the Client. With Andrews experience in Value Engineering, he is a valuable asset to the team.
Ian is a decisive, highly experienced construction professional with a demonstrable track record in construction management. He consistently delivers high levels of customer satisfaction and has strong leadership and people management skills. Ian has the ability to multi-task in a high-pressure environment and is quick to respond and deliver best practice. Typical projects included the Newly Constructed Main Catering facility within the constricted Stepping Hill Hospital site and the prestigious new MRI Suite for The Christie Hospital.
Ian's experience has been gained in a wide range of Sectors including Private, Healthcare, Educational, Residential and Commercial projects. Ian has been responsible for the successful delivery of the Measured Term Contract at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust for City Build for the past 5 years, and is now responsible for the MTC at Wythenshawe and Countess of Chester Hospitals. Ian has developed a unique knowledge of working in “Live” Acute Hospital environments and their specific procedures.
Jayne joined the company over 16 years ago. Jayne manages the day to day accounts department of City Build. Jayne has worked her entire career in the construction industry and particularly enjoys working with our long established subcontractors.
Neil has been with City Build for almost 15 years, and started his career working on site but soon expressed an interest to work as an estimator. Neil transferred to our estimating department, where he has developed his skills as a highly proficient and accurate estimator, who is extremely valued for his ability to quickly and effectively price projects of any value.
Aaron joined City Build in 2012 as a trainee, who quickly found his feet in the estimating department. City Build have sponsored Aaron through his BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction, HNC in Construction and BSc (Hons) degree.
Linda is our office manager, and has worked at City Build for over 16 years. Linda is extremely knowledgeable and diligent, and her experience and dedication ensures that her team keeps the office running smoothly for us on a day to day basis. Linda's motivation and enthusiasm is a valuable asset to our team.
Joe has over 10 years experience at City Build, and has worked across a variety of sectors for both Private and Public Sector Clients. Recent notable projects include a new, state of the art Angiography Suite for Salford Royal, MTC at Wythenshaw Hospital, New extension and refurbishment works at Oxford Grove Primary School, and new Lecture Theatres at the Stopford Building for the University of Manchester
MSc BSc (Hons)
Jenny has over 10 years’ experience in the Profession in a combination of Public & Private Sector works including Healthcare, Educational, Commercial and Residential Projects. Recent projects include the redevelopment of Ambleside Campus for the University of Cumbria, a new activity centre and lodgings for Pettypool Girl Guiding, the award winning Maths Block at Winstanley College and the refurbishment of the Parklands Unit at Oldham Royal Hospital.
Aston has over 5 years experience in the industry, gained in a range of sectors, including Healthcare, Educational, Commercial and Residential Projects. Recent notable projects include MTC works at Countess of Chester, stand refurbishment at Southport Football Club and the refurbishment of Hillview ward at Blackburn Royal Hospital.
George started with City Build Manchester in May 2016 as a year out student. Quick and eager to learn, George has proven himself to be a valuable asset to the team. We are therefore delighted that George has joined us on a permanent basis, and we look forward to supporting George through his final year at University.
