City Build was appointed via the Procure Partnerships Framework to undertake spatial reconfiguration and fit out works of areas at first and second floor levels within the Mary Seacole Building.
The purpose of the scheme was to provide specialist teaching accommodation for a Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) to be offered by the University of Salford from the 2021/22 academic year.
Our works included protection of all retained surface finishes and building elements, strip out of existing finishes and fixtures and fittings and demolition of existing partitions. We then erected partitioning and new internal doorsets to suit the new floor layout.
Alterations were made to existing Mechanical and Electrical systems, new floor coverings and suspended ceilings were installed, and the whole area re-decorated. City Build supplied and installed FF&E before making good and commissioning the works.
The project was delivered in two phases with the remainder of the Mary Seacole Building staying open and operational. The project commenced September 2021 and was successfully handed over in January 2022.
